ABOUT THE HIDDEN LIBRARY:

Sometimes, the rabbit hole is deeper than expected . . .

Alice Reeve and Finn Van Brunt have tumbled into a life of secrets. Some secrets they share, such as their employment by the clandestine organization known as The Collectors’ Society. Other secrets they carry within them, fighting to keep buried the things that could change everything they think they know.

On the hunt for an elusive villain who is hell-bent on destroying legacies, Alice, Finn, and the rest of the Society are desperate to unravel the mysteries surrounding them. But the farther they spiral down this rabbit hole, the deeper they fall into secrets that will test their loyalties and pit them against enemies both new and old.

Secrets, they come to find, can reveal the deadliest of truths.

RAFFLECOPTER GIVEAWAY!!

My Review

After such a fantastic first book (The Collectors’ Society), naturally I had high expectations and lots of anticipation for The Hidden Library! I am so glad I got to be apart of this blog tour! You guys do not want to miss out on this series!!

The Hidden Library picked up right about where The Collectors’ Society left off. Recap: Brom Van Brunt (Finn’s father) practically had his throat slit by Sweeney Todd who is still at large! The Society still isn’t sure why catalysts are actively being sought after and destroyed, but they have managed to capture Todd’s accomplice. Alice and Finn have returned from Wonderland with its catalyst and their relationship grows stronger every day!

The Hidden Library was filled with everything a good book should be filled with! A scorching romance, a killer villain(s), an ever-thickening plot, and fantastical elements that leave your head spinning! Alice and Finn’s relationship was powerful and I really enjoyed watching it reach bounds it was never able to in the first book. Danger lurked around every corner, and insane unexplainable plot twists were thrown in all over the place! I literally could not put this book down, it never ceased to keep me on the edge of my seat! While there was a lot of new information that answered my questions, there was also a lot of new developments that created even more.

Heather Lyons has once again written a wonderful (pun intended) tale about a girl named Alice from a Wonderland that you would not quite expect. And yes folks, don’t worry, you will get a taste of Wonderland again in this second installment! Which brings me to Jace, The White King, *swoons.* Despite how much I love Alice being with Finn, I can’t help but root for The White King and her at the same time! My heart is torn in a strange way. Jace could not be any more perfectly kind and genuine toward Alice, it kills me! There’s just no hating the guy for loving Alice! Heck if she doesn’t want him I’ll take him!

By the time the ending rolled around I was in complete denial! There was no way Lyons could leave it like that! What an insane ending folks?! Quite the heart wrenching/exhilarating cliff hanger! I cannot wait to read book three! I need it ASAP! You do not want to miss reading The Hidden Library! And if you haven’t started The Collectors’ Society, then fall down the rabbit hole and into this story!

I’m really looking forward to this series – I just picked up the first book from the library and it sounds fantastic.

I would like to see a modern retelling of The Beetle by Richard Marsh – I expect it would be decidedly un-PC. 😀 I would also like to see a modern retelling of Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlow series. 🙂

I don’t think I’ve heard of The Beetle but yay for picking up the first book!

I think that a retelling of any of Shakespeare’s plays would be more than awesome! As for books, if I stuck strictly to the term, I would probably have to go with Huckleberry Finn

A retelling/spinoff of a Shakespeare story is always great! Have you read Ophelia?
