Reread & Review: Incendiary (Premonition #4) by Amy A. Bartol

13502970

Goodreads Summary:

Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on my cheeks as I emerge from the darkness of the ship’s interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling my dark pea coat tighter to my body, the wind lifts red tendrils of my hair. I walk slowly to the railing overlooking the water.

I catch my first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes me shiver in dread. I find it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it. The cold, moss-covered edifices practically scream their presence. As I study the shadows between the falling-down stone, I imagine creeping shapes of undead Faeries grasping the rock, waiting for our ship to draw nearer to their position.

Tipping my face up, I let the rain wash over me. It bathes away the frigid sweat of fear that has broken on my brow. “You don’t know how fiercely beautiful you are, do you?” A quiet voice behind me asks, causing me to stiffen and fix my eyes on the rocks along the shoreline.

My Review

I just realized that it has literally been 4 years since I read this book!! So of course a reread was necessary before I finally complete the series! I remember reading Incendiary the first time and flipping the flip out over what happened!!! I couldn’t stop reading the beautiful content. Now that I’ve read it again, I can’t believe how much I forgot and I remember why I was freaking out so much! This book is a remarkable addition to the series!

Incendiary picks up around where Indebted left off, which is with Evie on the run from Brennus and currently in hiding with her friends. I am not exaggerating when I say that SO MUCH HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK! Honestly it sucked cause it took me over two weeks to read it this time around (it’s a pretty long book in my defense), but wow, I felt as if I read two books in one . The first half was so utterly different then the second. Bartol packs a wallop with Incendiary. Developments are thrown around non-stop; there is most certainly not a single slow moment to be seen.

Quite a few new characters are introduced in book four that literally change the fabric of the story. And characters that you already know evolve in new unforeseen ways. Evie’s  relationship with Reed grows ever stronger and heart wrenchingly painful as events play out. Just when you think they are out of the storm, the clouds come in again. My heart could not take all of the emotion at once. Parts of the plot were just brutal to read but oh so worth seeing through to the end. I absolutely loved Incendiary and I am SO SO excited to finally, FINALLY get to read the last book in this beloved series several years after embarking on this journey.

I would most definitely recommend you get your hands on this series or continue on with it by reading Incendiary! Buy it on Amazon here!

Reread and Review: Indebted (The Premonition #3) by Amy A. Bartol

13502963

Goodreads Summary:

I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not the scent of heat, like it had been when it was forced upon me in visions. I gaze down the hill, beyond the small, whitewashed house that I knew would be there. The church looms dark and grim with its rough-hewn, timber façade, capped by tall, oblong spires reaching to the sky. Black, ominous clouds have collected above the roofline, as if Heaven is showing me the way.

My Review

I was so ecstatic to finally reread Indebted in my overly long journey of rereading The Premonition series so I can at last read the final book in the series! I absolutely love this series, and book three was just as fantastic the second time around!

Evie now has survived everything her crazy world has to throw at her: including archangels  and a hoard of fairies. Yeah this series really is this insane! After having just barely escaped Brennus with the help of Russell and getting thrown into the fire of Dominion, Evie must remain alert at all times for any other new threats. She is most definitely not out of the storm yet as she encounters creatures she never could have imagined existed!

Indebted is a pivotal novel in this series in that it makes you reevaluate the difference between good and evil. It also tears at your heart and emotions like never before. Although I am forever team Reed, I began to see things from Brennus’ perspective and sympathize with his love for Evie. Book three really delves into the layers of each character.   Of course I was hooked from the very start! And even though there were super frustrating parts in this book, I couldn’t put it down. The action and developments were non-stop! It was utterly enthralling and I am more in love with Reed than ever before!

I would most definitely recommend anyone who has started this series to continue on with it! I can’t wait to read more!

Reread and Review: Intuition (The Premonition Series #2) by Amy Bartol

13281637

Goodreads Summary:

I don’t open my eyes so I can’t see him, but I can smell him. He thickens the air I breathe, choking me with his scent…his aroma. I shiver. I have to resist. If I’m not strong, then I will be relegated to the same fate as this predator whose sickness infects me even now. But now, I crave him and he knows that; he has been counting on my need to end the gnawing pain. How he would savor my surrender. I’m alive, but how much longer will it take until I beg him not to be?

My Review

So it took me a ridiculously long time to finish book two! I wish I had been able to read it faster but I had so many other books that kept popping up in between. However, whenever I did read it I was hooked in! Intuition brings with it high suspense, new characters, which means new enemies, and plenty of new settings!

As Evie grows further into her powers and her true self, she begins to realize how much danger she’s putting the people she cares about in. This leads her to make a drastic and devastating decision. However, when new threats come lurking out of the shadows, Evie soon discovers just how in over her head she really is. Before she knows it, she’s not only fighting for her life once more but becomes the only one capable of preventing the total annihilation of all that she holds dear.

Intuition was even better than book two, it took me on an emotional roller coaster that is all together different than anything I’ve experienced before! Oh and have I mentioned how much I love rereading these books?! It also just helps reaffirm how much I am TEAM REED over and over again! You would almost think that book one was a novella because of how much more events have developed by book two. Intuition makes Inescapable’s events feel as if they happened a million years ago based on how far the characters/plot progresses. Evie grows so much stronger both physically and mentally and her relationship with Reed is absolutely beautiful in every way! There are quite a few swoon worthy moments that will leave you fangirling left and right over Reed! I can’t wait to move on to the next reread of book three: Indebted! I’m one step closer to finally seeing how it all ends!

Please please please keep reading this series if you have just finished Inescapable! Buy Intuition on Amazon here!

Reread & Review: Inescapable (The Premonition Series #1) by Amy A. Bartol

12925063

Goodreads Summary:

My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me–my freshman year of college. I’d been hoping that once I’d arrived on Crestwood’s campus, the nightmare that I’ve been having would go away. It hasn’t.
I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I’m grounded…sane. I look for rational explanations to even the strangest circumstances. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he’s near, I feel an attraction to him–a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you’re thinking…that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would be…if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I’m the worst thing that has ever happened to Crestwood…or him. But get this, for some reason every time I turn around he’s there, barging into my life.
What is the secret that he’s keeping from me? I’m hoping that it’s anything but what I suspect: that he’s not exactly normal…and neither am I. So, maybe Crestwood won’t be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I’ve been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is…inescapable.

My Review

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, then you know that I have been meaning to reread The Premonition series for at least a year now! Well I FINALLY got around to reading book one again!! There were a few hiccups in between but I finished it and my love for the series is renewed! More importantly, my love for Reed is renewed!!

Evie is a seemingly ordinary girl trying to start her freshman year in college. However, when she meets the gorgeous yet kind of rude Reed, she soon realizes she is the furthest thing from ordinary. As she begins to unlock more secrets about who she is and who Reed is, she learns that her life is in extreme danger and nothing will ever be the same.

The Premonition Series is just one of those series that you instantly fall in love with! The characters have such depth and the romance is FIERCE! Oh and did I  mention that there’s a love triangle? UGHH! The emotional turmoil that this book will put you through is no joke! I promise it will be worth it though. The plot will hook its claws in you so deep you won’t be able to put it down. I will forever be team Reed and “rereeding” the book only reaffirmed that. I loved watching his feelings for Evie evolve and seeing the ways in which those new feelings surprised him. Their relationship, though a little fast on the uptake is wonderful to read and so very beautiful! I can’t wait to continue reading these books again!

If you are a paranormal romance fan, then you best hurry up and get to reading this series!! Buy Inescapable on Amazon here!

Dollhouse by Melanie Martinez: this song has such a good beat and actually really powerful lyrics!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I’d Recommend to ereader/ebook haters!

This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!

This week’s topic is Top Ten Books I’d Recommend to _____ person. I get the freedom of choosing who I would recommend these books to and I have chosen to address all those readers out there who doubt the power of ebooks and ereaders such as the Nook and Kindle, though I’m partial to the Kindle myself (it’s my child). I just feel like there are so many people out there still that don’t realize there is so much to gain by purchasing an ereader or even an ereader app. Ereaders have brought me sooo many amazing books over the past couple years, there is no way I would ever stop using it alongside physical books. And trust me I understand your hesitance to read ebooks, because I originally had no intention of EVER reading electronic books. I was all about that book-in-my-hand, turn-the page life, but ever since Grace let me borrow her first Kindle I was hooked, I had to own one. So sure enough after 6+ months of reading fantastic books and series with Grace’s Kindle, I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas! So I can’t help but feel the need to share with you all my favorite ebooks that got me hooked on the Kindle and ereading, hopefully this can sway your mind toward reading ebooks, because if you don’t have an ereader or ereader app for your tablet, it would be so much more of a hassel to read and obtain these amazing books!

the lux series

The Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout: I’ve said it enough, and I’ll say it again: I LOVE THE LUX SERIES!! This series has insane action, plot twists, sexy drop dead gorgeous best book boyfriend characters ever, and the greatest suspenseful story and romance ever!!! Daemon Black is pretty much my favorite book boyfriend! The Lux Series is hands down, though it’s a difficult choice to make, my favorite ebook series I have ever read!! There is not a single person I know that has read this series that didn’t absolutely love it! Though these books have managed to make their way into the Barnes&Nobel stores themselves, they are difficult to find. You might as well just read them as an ebook and save the time 😉 Read our review of the first three books here!

salvation

The Captive Series by Erica Stevens: This is probably my favorite vampire series I have read, though there are many good ones out there for sure. This series is unlike any other vampire series you’ll read. It’s filled with forbidden love and some bad ass female and male leads! This series is really only available electronically unless you take the time to wait for it ship off Amazon, and who wants that?? Read our review here!

GWS-6-Banner1

The Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis: I obsessed so hard core over this series when I first started reading ebooks. It is one of my favorite Werewolf series ever, this book has some of the best characters and romance you can find, not to mention plenty of humor and action! These are really only popular because they were popularized through ereaders, just sayin… Read our review here!

577956_528164510534688_1266203621_n

The Premonition Series by Amy Bartol: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! It’s one of my absolute favorite angel series and has one of my top book boyfriends ever: Reed!! ❤ Anyway this series is filled with soo many plot twists, action coming out your ears, and the most beautiful romantic situations. This series was also popularized through ereaders by being ebooks. Grace and I plan to review this series before the final book is released, I’m just waiting to reread them all to be fully refreshed!

PMDCover

Promise Me series by Paige Weaver: This ebook series was seriously so enjoyable with a super steamy romance and crazy suspenseful situations that leave you reeling with emotion! Read my review here!

angelfall_cover

The Penryn and the End of Days Series by Susan Ee: Angelfall was literally the first ebook I ever read! This book was such an awesome choice to kick off my love for ebooks! It is soo intense and is a really awesome angel apocalypse book! I loved this book and am currently rereading it in preparation for book two: World After out tomorrow!!! Reviews for both books to come!! These books would not have become so popular without the help of Amazon and Barnes&Noble ebooks, this series has become so huge that it’s gonna be a MOVIE!! Now if that doesn’t say something about the power of ebooks then I don’t know what does!
