My Review
The Bound picked up right where The Affiliate left off (I’ve been asked not to share spoilers from either book so I won’t say where). Any-who, wow! The Bound did not slow down for an instant. There was so much magic and reveals, it was a fantastic addition to the series. The characters continued to evolve even more, which was wonderful to see and plenty of new ones were introduced as well; characters that were essential to the entire plot of this story.
It was great to see Cyrene come into her own as she discovered more and more about who she is. Her discoveries have her traveling even farther away from home leading her into greater and greater danger. The characters that are introduced change her path forevermore. And a new romance blossoms right under your nose which I was SO SO pleased about. This new character is a much better fit for her than the previously introduced love interest.
As the plot thickens more and things seemed to finally be working out for Cyrene a HUGE curveball gets thrown in that left me in shock!! I cannot believe the turn events that occurred. All I can tell you is that the ending cliffhanger left me extremely angry and in need to read the next book! I can only hope that things will work out okay for Cyrene, I was just getting used to things. If you are looking for a great fantasy read unlike your typical story, than I would definitely recommend The Ascension series.
