Liebster Award!

So I have received the wonderful honor of being nominated for The Liebster Award by Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts! Thanks Joey!

you may be asking yourself…well what is it:

The Liebster Award recognizes and helps discover new blogs. The rules are as follows:

1) Link back to the person who nominated you.

2) Answer 11 questions from the individual who nominated you.

3) Nominate 11 new bloggers and come up with your own 11 questions. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.

4) Inform your nominee on being nominated.

So first off let me just say that Joey’s particular questions are insane!! But props to you for coming up with some insightful ways to get a girl thinking about her book life. This is really gonna take some time and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can come up with!

1 ) What is your number one bookish dream? (meeting an author/character, becoming a character, etc.) Why?

I guess I would want to be that girl that hits that one birthday (or something cliche like that) where your whole world changes when you meet this guy and all of the sudden… BAM you discover that (insert paranormal/fantastical being here) really exists and the world is not what you really think it is. I mean would if all those crazy things are real and we are just a part of the large percentage who remain in the dark about the truth… Ya know just my random night time rants I sometimes have with myself.

 2) Imagine living in a world where only a single copy of a book is ever published. All of these books are housed at The Library; a place where you’re allowed to read but never borrow said book. But it’s burning down. Patrons are running rampant and considering the same question as this prompt: you only have time to run through and grab any one book. Which book do you choose? Why? What if you saw someone in the same aisle as you looking for that same novel? What then?

This is a seriously difficult question, but also kind of an an epic concept to be incorporated into some kind of crazy dystopian novel, but anyway…I would probably choose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I don’t care that it’s the last one in the series, I could reread that book an infinite amount of times and love it no less than I already do. “After all this time? Always.”

And let me tell ya, nothing would come between me and that book!

3) Third favorite (or worst) fictional world you would want to live in? Why?

Worst fictional world I’d live in: The FAYZ (Fallout Alley Youth Zone) in The Gone Series by Michael Grant. I mean no one’s over the age of 15, electricity is out, and half the people you know are developing psycho powers, while the other half are trying to use those psycho powers to kill you in a sadistic way.  Oh and  did I mention there is some kind of radioactive monster creepin in your head and turning the animals into mutants.

Nope. Not for me. Love to read about it… would never take the characters’ place.

4)If you could walk in the shoes of an antagonist and experience all their thoughts and actions as events play out (in relation to a specific scene possibly), who would it be and why?

I guess I would choose Joe Carroll from The Following, I haven’t even finished season one yet (almost done) but I would be interested to see how his mind functions. Every terrible crime he commits he commits with no regrets, no guilt, he believes what he’s doing is right. I would love to see his mindset over the ways in which he controls his “following” and how he justifies himself as being morally sound. Because honestly the guy is a sadistic genius.

5) Would you rather be permanently blind but still able to hear audio-books (let’s assume all novels had an equivalent audio-book) or be deaf but still retain your vision? Why?

Definitely deaf, because: 1. I could still read 2. Netflix has a subtitles option

6) Assuming for a second that these concepts are in near-perfection for reading specifically: would you rather have hyperthymesia coupled with eidetic memory (basically being able to vividly remember mostly every line and scene in a book) or always experience book-dementia (specifically, you’ll always forget what you read, meaning you can relive each book for first time again but never truly remembering them)?

No question needed, definitely be able to vividly remember mostly every line and scene in a book. Not only would I win every argument with my friends over plot details, but I would be able to pretty much relive any book whenever I wanted to in my head.

7) Which character(s) have created an impact on how you perceive the present world? What made you change your perspective? In what way have you changed the way you think (or do things) because of them? Is this for better or for worse?

The first that comes to mind is Charlie from Perks of Being a Wallflower, his perception of the world around him is so aloof yet so insightful and beautiful. He makes you realize that every person, introvert or extrovert has their own thoughts and perspective that can speak volumes, even if you can’t necessarily hear or see them.

8) Assuming you could meet your favorite author(s), provide details of your ideal date itinerary.

Call me cliche, but J.K. Rowling hands down! We would be sitting in some fantastic lazy boy recliners in the back corner of an unknown yet homy little book store. And we would just sit and talk  drinking coffee all the while discussing anything and everything Harry Potter.

9) If you could play matchmaker and take two individuals from different novels, and set them up together, who would you ship? Why?

Ok…this one has me stumped. Every character that comes to mind I already ship with someone in their given novel so yeah…

10) You’re about to make your inaugural address/speech as [insert important role here] (i.e. President, Prime Minister, Valedictorian). If you could include a quote from any source (book/television/movie/etc.), what would it be? Why?

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban: “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

Why? Because it’s up to you to make the best of your situation. Find the light in the dark that pushes you to the finish line.

“There are far, far better things ahead, than any we leave behind.”

-C.S. Lewis

Why? Because: truth.

11) You have the chance of rewriting one narrative element of your choice of book or series. Do you take it? If so, what do you rewrite/change? Consider that the unwritten path will open others. Justify your answer.

YES, yes I would. If you have read Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth, I would change everything about the dismal fate of both Tobias and Tris. It didn’t have to go down that way and we ALL know it!! Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Alright, well there ya have it folks, all 11 answers to these incredibly thought provoking questions. Thanks again Joey for the nomination!

And now for my questions! I’m going to slightly alter what was already given to me mostly because I’m too pressed for time to come up with all 11 original questions.

1) What is the #1 thing on your bookish bucketlist? (meeting an author/character, becoming a character, etc.) Why?

2) If you could only read one book for the rest of your life what book would you choose and why?

3) If you could choose one fictional world to live in, which would you choose? Which world would you never want to live in?

4)If you could trade places with any fictional character from any book or TV show who would you choose? Why?

5) What is the one book you never imagined picking up that you actually enjoyed? What made you love it?

6) If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

7) Which character(s)/books have created an impact on how you perceive the present world? In other words what book(s) have had the greatest influence on you?

8) If you could have a one-on-one with any author and/or character who would you choose? What would you say to him or her?

9) If you could play matchmaker and take two individuals from different novels, and set them up together, who would you ship? Why?

10) What is all your all time favorite book quote?

11) What are your current fandoms? What has been your favorite fandom overall?? (As a huge fangirl myself I had to ask 😀 )
