Review: Iniquity (Premonition #5) by Amy A. Bartol

Goodreads Summary:

I gasp as my body curls toward Brennus like a flower to the sun, for the pleasure of it. He holds me close to him. His nose grazes the length of my neck. He breathes me in. I feel the roar and rush of my heartbeat. I’m his toy; his energy streams into me. He winds the invisible key in my back and the euphoria ratchets and coils inside of me: tick…tick…tick…

Another wicked surge of energy flows from him into me. Pain. Pleasure. Bliss. My jaw unclenches as my lips part. I make a small, breathy sound as we dance. Brennus responds with something close to a growl. “Ye’re killing me, mo chroí,” he murmurs. His hand moves down my back infusing me with a golden glow of power. My wings punch violently from me, tearing a hole in my day dress. They spread wide, like a red stain beyond my pale skin. I’m dancing now for the thrill of it. I follow his lead.

As the song comes to an end, Brennus kisses my throat. He whispers in my ear, “When ye get back, come find me, mo chroí. I’ve healed ye…now wake up and banjax whoever banished ye here…”

My Review

Well the time has finally come!! I finished reading The Premonition series and I don’t know how to feel! I’ve spent five years reading these books and its so sad to see these characters go. I had to say goodbye to Reed and Evie and it was most definitely difficult.

Iniquity was action packed and full of suspense from start to finish! I was in love with it on page one, as I knew I would be. The story began right where the fourth book left off with Evie almost dying again, and Brennus being changed by her blood. Reed escapes with her and she is barely saved on time after being healed by Russel.

I know the common critique about these books is that a ridiculous amount of guys like Evie and the numbers grow every book. Trust me, I thought the same thing, especially after Xavier was introduced. I assure you fellow readers, all your questions and concerns will be satisfied after reading this book! I was blown away by the turn of events and the final reveal. It finally made everything make sense, and honestly it justified why all these men were after her quite easily. It was very well done and I was so pleased by all that I had learned.

This book certainly took me on an emotional rollercoaster and the romance between Reed and Evie was EVERYTHING!! I never gave up hope for an instant, though I have to admit I was really intrigued as to how Bartol was going to turn everything around. Which brings me to the ending, it was very unexpected in every way. And quite honestly, I started to think that the fifth book wasn’t going to be the final book in the serious. I’m starting to wonder if Bartol is going to write some kind of novella or surprise next book. The ending just didn’t feel complete, it was in some ways, but there were just certain hints that lead me to believe there could be more to come, at least from other characters.

Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed Iniquity and loved everything it had to throw at me. I am so so sad to say goodbye to these beloved characters and this beloved story.

Finish the series and  buy Iniquity on Amazon here!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten 2014 Releases I’m Dying to Read!

This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s topic is Top Ten 2014 Releases I’m Dying to Read. I wish there were more, but many of my favorite series came to a conclusion this year and a few more conclude next year, so really the whole ordeal is bitter sweet.

Opposition (Lux #5) by Jennifer Armentrout: No cover has been revealed yet for book five, but let’s just say I’m flipping out with excitement for Oppposition! And I’m probably going to have the biggest book hangover after finishing it! I love this series soooo much I know I’m gonna love Opposition. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come out until August of next year! I’ll probably end up rereading the series for the third time before it comes out just to get by till then!

Book Three in The White Rabbit Chronicles: I love this awesome zombie twist on Alice in Wonderland series, and especially loved book two in the series. I can’t wait for book three! Though, the title of the book has not been released, the release date is known: book three will be out Septemeber of next year! I most definitely will be rereading both books beforehand!

Iniquity (Premonition Series #5) by Amy Bartol: I absolutely love this series, and cannot wait for Iniquity to come out! Though I’m unsure of the exact release date, I’m assuming at this point it will be sometime early next year! This is yet another series that I will have a major book hangover after finishing!

Book Three in The Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole: I literally just finished reading this book and can’t wait for book three to be released! It ended with quite an interesting and heart wrenching development, so I’m super eager for book three, which at this point I’m just assuming is coming out sometime next year! My review for Endless Knight should be up tomorrow!

17455585White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1) by Jennifer Armentrout: This new series by JLA sounds absolutely fantastic, and I can’t wait to read it! I already pre-ordered it, now it’s just a matter of waiting until February to read it! It sounds so unique and different, its characters are demon-gargoyles! I have been waiting for a series like this to crop up, and I know it should be great coming from Jennifer Armentrout!
