Review: A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2) by Sarah J. Maas

Goodreads Summary:

Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

My Review

A Court of Mist and Fury was entirely unexpected in every way! I don’t think I’ve ever gone through such an emotional endeavor, most of which was directed at the author! This is probably the first book in which I began being wholly pissed off at Maas for doing what she did and ended with being 100% in love with the story!

Now before I really delve in deep to this review, I have to begin by saying how disappointed I was with myself for not remembering NEARLY as much about book one as I thought I did! Holy crap I had forgotten so much!! I really should have reread book one before hand (I read it over a year ago) before continuing to book two. My mind was hazy on who Rhysand even was (yes I admit it and I am ashamed). Fortunately, I remembered most the main points. So despite the memory gaps, I found myself still in love with the characters and the storyline.

Now that Feyre has returned from Under the Mountain and Tamlin has regained his magic, both have been forever changed, and neither can escape the nightmares that haunt them each night in their sleep. Feyre can’t even find the comfort she needs in the arms of the man she loves. To make matters worse, Rhysand has come calling to cash in on his bargain. Before she knows it Feyre is whisked away to a secret place, gains new allies, new enemies, and finds herself locked in an upcoming battle that has the potential to destroy everything.

Sarah J. Maas created a beautiful addition to the series, one that took my heart: shredded it, flipped it inside out, and filled it with an epic love! A Court of Mist and Fury unraveled the secrets of the universe and brought forth a new story I never would have anticipated. And the romance was ON FIRE! The ending was absolutely mind blowing! I cannot wait to see what is in store for Feyre! Book three can’t come any sooner!

If you are looking for your next fantasy-romance addiction then you have got to read this series! Buy book two on Amazon here!
