Goodreads Summary:
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
At last!!!! At last Opposition has been released and I have now completed what is my second favorite series of all time folks! And that is really saying something guys, because for me this one falls right below Harry Potter, so that’s pretty drastic!! I don’t even know where to begin! But here I go! HUZZAH!
My Review
Origin (Lux #4) ending recap: Daemon and Katy escaped the clutches of Daedalus, but in order to get away they had no choice but to reveal their existence to the world by giving Vegas one big light show of Alien awesomeness. Just when they think they are finally safe, their worst fears come true as they witness thousands of Luxen falling from the sky (did anybody else picture the Season 8 finale of Supernatural here?).
Opposition kicked off with a bang, but of course I would expect nothing less from Jennifer Armentrout. With so many Luxen on earth no one is safe and even the Black family are put to the test. Katy and Daemon must face trial after trial to survive. As their situation becomes more desperate, they find themselves doing the unthinkable to protect themselves and all those they care about.
The action and suspense in this book was literally NON-STOP! There was a new threat around every turn, and new plot developments that I never saw coming! Daemon of course was full of mega badassery that was ever abundant, and this was the most ass-kicking I have ever seen Katy do, which was absolutely fantastic! This was the first time that I really came to realize how much of an equal fighter Katy is for Daemon! When the going got tough, she got tougher! Never once did she back down from any of the insane situations she got thrown into, she remained steadfast throughout! Which she really needed to be in order to keep up with a man like Daemon Black. *sigh* (why can’t he be real??)
Now I come to the romance, *swoons and falls over in adoration* . Wow, just WOW! Oppostition was by far my favorite in the romance department (each book has gradually gotten more romantic). There were just so many times during this book that I had a stupid smile on my face from the absolutely beautiful words that came out of Daemon’s mouth! Armentrout really knows how to make a person fangirl over a book boyfriend, cause I did all over the place! Opposition was filled with so many wonderful tender moments between Katy and Daemon that proved just how powerful their love for one another is! Basically, this book reinforced why Daemon Black is my #1 book boyfriend! And once again there was plenty of witty banter that made me:
Though Opposition was wonderful in ever way, the only thing I wasn’t entirely crazy about was how quickly the final battled was resolved. There was so much build up and so many awesome battle scenes throughout that I was expecting an even more epic huge battle at the ending; but, before I knew it, it was over. I wanted just a little bit more from it, however, that didn’t detract whatsoever from my overall love for the book and for it’s ending. Opposition had a magnificent epilogue that inspired all the right feels! All the loose ends were tied up perfectly and overall I was competely satifised with it’s conclusion! So to put it plainly, Opposition was:
I couldn’t have said it better myself Dean.
And now that it’s over I’m just, just
I definitely recommend you finish off what has got to be a memorable journey with the Lux series and read Opposition, you will not be disappointed! Buy it on Amazon here!!
Well done Jennifer Armentrout!
(Yes I randomly added a Harry Potter gif amidst the Supernatural ones, so shoot me!)
